CONSTRUCTION

Scheer & Zehnder provides a broad range of litigation and consulting services relating to commercial and residential construction. Our construction litigation experience ranges from cases involving claims of construction defects in large multi-family condominium complexes and commercial buildings to claims of toxic mold exposure in single family residences. The firm also has handled and tried numerous construction site personal injury lawsuits.

One of Scheer & Zehnder's specialties is taking the lead and managing complex multi-party construction litigation on behalf of developers and general contractors. When a developer or general contractor is sued, and must in turn pursue a lawsuit against the subcontractors who performed the allegedly defective work, they need to have experienced and aggressive attorneys who can rise to that challenge. Scheer & Zehnder has successfully and repeatedly met that challenge and is one of the few law firms in Washington to have successfully tried cases to verdict involving residential construction disputes.

In addition to specializing in all aspects of construction litigation, attorneys at Scheer & Zehnder regularly work with clients on non-litigation matters. We frequently draft, negotiate, and interpret contracts and otherwise provide consulting services for our clients. Although the firm enjoys litigation, in our role as counselors it is our goal to advise our clients — and create clearly defined contracts — to not only help them avoid litigation, but also place them in the strongest position should a dispute arise.
