Anthony Gipe developed his strategic and analytical skills long before he embarked on a litigation career. He enjoyed a long and distinguished tenure in the United States Navy, where he served as a Russian language interpreter and intelligence analyst.

Anthony has handled multimillion-dollar claims in California, Oregon, and Washington courts, conducted trials in multiple counties in the state, and has successfully negotiated settlements for firm clients in dozens of cases. Anthony’s experience includes the areas of commercial and contractual litigation, personal injury, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, construction litigation, employment disputes, insurance coverage, and civil rights disputes.

Anthony’s clients include insurance companies, contractors; medical and legal practices; importers and exporters; nonprofit corporations; landlords; husbands, wives, and domestic partners in family law; and individuals. Anthony is also a frequent writer and speaker on employment and human resources issues.

Admitted to practice in Washington State, Oregon State, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, Anthony has been a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Washington State Bar Association, the King County Bar Association, the Washington Employment Lawyers Association (where he served as a board member), and the Lesbian and Gay Law Society of Washington.

Anthony is currently serving as a Governor for the Washington State Bar Association, the body charged with regulation of the practice of law and lawyers for the State of Washington. He is serving as a Governor of the Bar from 2008-2011. Anthony is also a founding member of the Washington State Bar Association Leadership Institute Advisory Board and a frequent contributor to the Institute. The Institute was created to foster leadership training and development for young lawyers.

Anthony studied at the Monterey Institute of Foreign Languages/Defense Languages Institute, where he received his accreditation in Russian Languages and Culture. He earned a B.A. in the Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington and received his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law. Washington Law & Politics readers voted Anthony a "Rising Star" in the legal profession in 2002 and 2003.
