Mr. Holt focuses his practice in the areas of complex civil litigation, including construction defect, insurance defense and coverage, contract and business disputes, copyright infringement, personal injury, tort defense,
premises liability and professional and product liability.
He is admitted to practice in Federal and State Court, Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, Oregon State and Federal Courts and in the U.S. Court of Appeals in the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Holt has also frequenly spoken to various insurers, businesses, trade groups and professional associations on a variety of topics including construction defect litigation, premises liability and product defects.
Currently Mr. Holt is a member of the Oregon and Washington State Bars, American Association for Justice, the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, the American Bar Association, the Multnomah Bar Association (Portland, OR) and the King County Bar Association (Seattle, WA). Mr. Holt was recently appointed as a Trustee to the Board of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers.
He received his B.S. degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1992 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver, College of Law in 1998 where he was a recipient of the Chancellor's Scholarship.
Prior to joining Scheer & Zehnder LLP, Mr. Holt was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of
Washington. He also served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Papua New Guinea prior to entering the practice of law. Mr. Holt's personal interests include tennis, triathalons, travel and camping.
