Diane Cornell is an associate in Scheer Law Group's Seattle office. She practices in the areas of personal injury, construction defect, and insurance defense. Prior to joining Scheer Law Group, Diane was an Assistant Attorney General in the Seattle office for over 20 years. She defended and prosecuted on behalf of the Department of Labor and Industries in the areas of workers’ compensation, third party, crime victims’ compensation, work place safety (DOSH/WISHA), fraud, industrial insurance audit and regulatory compliance.
Diane received her J.D. degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. She received her B.A. in Political Science and Art History from Texas Christian University. While in college, she also studied a year aboard through the Institute of European Studies in Vienna, Austria.
Throughout her career, Diane has given back to the community and worn many different hats as a volunteer. She served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for King County Superior Court and a Conference Committee Member for the King County Juvenile Court Diversion Program. She tutored underprivileged elementary students in the Bellevue and Redmond School Districts. She is an attorney mentor for Bellevue Youth Court. She does volunteer work for the homeless through the Salvation Army and Eastside Youth Services. She recently went to Tijuana and Ensenada, Mexico and helped build homes through Esperanza International and Homes of Hope.
Diane is married and has three sons. Outside of the office, she enjoys trail and mountain biking with her husband, spending time with her family and traveling.
